OUR STORY
driving the future of neon in kansas city
Neon has a relatively short but rich history. With ties to science, commerce, craft, and culture, neon is often associated with relics of the past. Our goal is to drive the future of neon.
DYLAN STEINMETZ
After receiving his MFA from Washington State University in 2016, Dylan and his family moved back to Kansas City where Dylan began working in his dad’s sign shop. Inspired by the craft, Dylan launched Element Ten in 2019 as a way to connect more artists to the medium and to drive the future of neon. Dylan designs and fabricates custom neon for clients in many different industries, including interior design, entertainment, food and beverage, and environmental design.
OLIVIA SHELTON
Olivia joined the Element Ten team in 2021 after years of daydreaming with Dylan about the potential of the company and the future of neon. With a background in marketing and brand strategy, Olivia focuses her time on the craft of neon tube bending and introducing the world to neon. Outside the neon studio, Olivia is usually hanging out with her dog or playing D&D with friends.
RANDY STEINMETZ
Randy Steinmetz has been at the fires bending neon signs for over 40 years. His focus and commitment to constant improvement of his craft have resulted in some of the finest neon work around. He is integral to each work we create. We’re proud to call him our neon mentor (and Dad).
